We all know that many of these poker players have already won big in their careers as avid poker players. Well, the same is true about Phil Hellmuth. This man as of right now has won more than six million dollars in cash prizes with his poker success. He also has eleven WSOP bracelets as well as seventy nine WSOP cashes.

He was born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin but now he currently resides in Palo Alto, California. The way he came to be a poker champ is quite interesting as well. Here you can read about it as we tell you a bit more about Phil Hellmuth.

It all began when he was twenty four years old. This man named Phil Hellmuth had actually defeated one of the legendary players known as Johnny Chan in the 1989 World Series of Poker. That’s pretty big, but that also put him on the boards as one of the youngest winners of the World Series of Poker.

From then on, Hellmuth had a record of winning. Unlike some men and women who win and then their streaks end, this isn’t true with Phil Hellmuth. He continued to go strong. In fact, his streak lasted nineteen years. It wasn’t until 2008 that he was beat. Hellmuth was beat by Peter Eastgate who was twenty two years old. The title that Hellmuth got as the youngest champion went away as well when he got beat by Eastgate. From then it was just sort of a chain reaction because in 2009, the title as the youngest champion was then taken away from Eastgate by John Cada who was twenty one when he won.

While those two titles were taken away from Phil Hellmuth, there are two things he’s defending. First of all, one will find that he is in the lead of having the most bracelets with his eleven bracelets. Another thing he is in the lead with is with the number of cashes he won. That’s seventy nine he has at the moment which is the most which makes him the one with the lead.
